    Hello All,
For some years I have had this object that I found on the Somme battlefield in France. I always thought it was a piece of track from a WW1 light railway, but now I am not so sure. Can anyone help with identification?

    Looks like a GLUT block.
Found in check rails and pointwork etc keeping the check rail at a constant distance from the running rail.
Bolted through both rails and the block. Bolts can be nearly 2ft long at times.

Smaller versions will be used in narrow gauge situations.
