Well folks, as of Monday, I will be Senior Curator of Rail Vehicle Collections - for York, Shildon and wherever else we have stuff. My activities will be far ranging, and my time limited, so I'm sorry, but expect to see less of me on NatPres. I'm not going to go away, but please be patient if I miss queries, comments etc.

In the meantime, keep your eye on http://nrmcurator.blogspot.com/

There's going to be some interesting stuff going on in the years to come!

    Cheers
    Anthony

Congratulations on your new appointment. Who is taking over at Shildon? Or is that still part of your remit?
Next question; when do we get our hands on (4)2500??

Congratulations on your new post - and many thanks for your time spent explaining NRM policies and informing we enthusiasts of items of interest. We may not have made it easy for you but you have always been willing to help with our most outlandish questions / theories with good humour which will be sorely missed.

    Thank you for your patience.

Thanks All, I've not gone completely, but will in all likelihood be a little less frequent...I'll still keep an eye on the scene, I need to keep aware of the current affairs and here's a great place to do so!
    Cheers

Just to echo the comments above particularly Fred's.
I think you should ask for a bit extra cash for all the PR work you have done on this board!

A richly deserved appointment and it gives me a lot of faith in the future progress of the NRM with someone like you in such a position.

Perhaps you would care to enlighten us of the exact role of Senior Curator of Rail Vehicle Collections, so we can make more appropriate outlandish requests (such as 22 aka 4468 and 6229 in wartime black - joking).

    Good luck,

    Ben

If the Economy goes the way that some pundits suggest then you might be returning 103 to the national network under the auspices of DfT - will the NRM then become National Rail Mechanicals as provider of traction for the National Network ?
