July 2014 - No 1 Talyllyn update

    News from Boston Lodge


    The wheelsets are now back in the loco with their new crankpins fitted, the new pony truck wheelset has been completed and the valve gear has been fettled where necessary.
    The new connecting rods were delivered to Boston Lodge this week along with a set of new brasses. The new coupling rods will arrive later in the week. These will need white metalling and machining to fit the new crankpins and then the rods can be fitted.

    The work seems to be well on target for getting No 1 back in time for her birthday celebrations later in the year. Hopefully we should see No 1 back on TR metals in the very near future.
