    Hey guys,

Im heading to Keighley this weekend for there steam gala. I'v only been there a few times, and was wondering if anyone knew any places except the stations where I could photograph the trains?

    Any help if appreciated

Almost anywhere along the A6033 opposite the meadow that Spamcan81 has pointed out for morning to noon shots - just has the problem of being busy and narrow with limited parking opportunities, but good if you can find somewhere.

Photos from the West side in the Oakworth - Oxenhope area are virtually impossible due to the steep valley side and/or housing; the meadow Spamcam 81 points out is one of the very few places.

On no account try to get from the main road (A629) to Damems station - Damems Lane and Damems Road are both only really useable by 4-wheel drive vehicles - I've stayed near Damems station on a number of occasions but fortunately drive a Land Rover!

Pennystream's fifth location is in Damems Road - most of which is not tarmaced and should be approached with care, particularly if it's been raining!

His last location is fine, but be aware that there is new housing along the North side of Damems Lane not shown on the map.

    Regards,
    John Webb

There used to be a good departure shot from the open ground here although the last time I looked it was rather overgrown

and from a small carpark opposite The Glope pub although step ladders come in handy to see over the wall

I had a look at Leylands Lane on streetview and it doesn't really show much of a view of the railway line, opposite the houses there seems to be a lot of garages and sheds. Is there a footpath near the railway line or another viewpoint on the street? The view doesn't seem to open up, but that might be a limitation of streetview.

The shot is looking down a footpath towards the railway. The footpath runs between high stone walls. I do have a shot from that spot but it will take a while to find it and scan it.

I agree with Ken about car parking on or around Damems Lane. There is a footpath from the overflow car park at Oxenhope to Haworth. Good locations all along that path. Leave car in Oxenhope car park

Another footpath from Ebor Lane north. Follow it go right after half mile to Tunnel.

    Regards
