I recieved this book (written by Keith Richardson) for Christmas, and have allready finished it. It's a great read, and can only be highly commended.
The book follows the history of not only the station but also the Stainmore route itself. It has very interesting references, and is crammed full of facts. It also briefly talks about the history of the station after it's closure, and its rebirth.
Whether you have never heard of the site before, or you're there every day, it really is a must read.
    Well done Keith Richardson!

A very good book indeed, its my local station and they seem to be coming on leaps and bounds with its restoration and turning the site into a top notch visiot attraction.

It does look superb - I travel up on Friday for the Saturday re-opening. Can't wait to see it first person, and the photos on the site just show how much effort has been put into the project over the last eleven years.

There's going to be park and ride at the auction market to avoid this problem.

Here are four photographs taken at a very enjoyable first day at Stainmore 150.
Three are on the site of the station, the other is at Podgill Viaduct, which is now a walkway. Notice the two types of brickwork when the track was converted from single to double.
