The Phyllis Rampton Trust Kerr Stuart Wren 3114 (known to many as "Brockamin") that has been at Aberystwyth has gone on 18 month loan to the Devon Railway Centre in Bickleigh.

She will replace sister Wren Pixie which will return to Leighton Buzzard after the DRC steam gala on 14/15 August.

The steam gala will see 2 of the 3 remaining Devon County Council Wrens together in steam as Peter Pan will be visiting too. Sadly Lorna Doone will not be completed in time to make the full set this year. Still 3 original Wrens in steam is something not to be missed.

3114 was fitted with air brakes yesterday (15 July) and hauled her first passenger train that evening in private run for the visting SWOONS 009 Society group. She is a finely restored loco, very tight and in excellent condition.

Sadly for a line whose main target audience are under 8s permission has not been granted for 3114 to carry a name. I will therefore have to discuss with my 4 year old son what name we should call her on our frequent visits. I'm sure Matt and his team will soon be tired of the question "What's its name".

The DRC's own steam loco O&K 5744 will return to traffic in 2012.
