    Location:
    Deep in the heart of Brum Brum
    I was on that tour. As I remember it, following this the 501 fleet were given an extended lease of life but the units involved in the tour were withdrawn right after the tour because the wooden running boards had been reduced in width for some of the running on the SR.

    Never knew there had been a 501 rail tour I see this link has also been posted on the Electric Railway Museum YAHOO group site
