Does anyone have any contact details for the owners of the Standard Gauge Leyland Experimental Vehicle at the Riverstown Railway in Ireland?

From my brief research, it appears that this Railway is actually closed.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

If anyone can provide contact details for the owners of this Railbus or provide me with current status or photographs, that would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jonathan

Yes I am an active volunteer
These are quite old details and the phone/fax may not be in operation anymore:

Riverstown Old Corn Mill Craft Centre
    Cooley
    Dundalk
    Co. Louth
    Ireland
    Phone: +353 (0)42 9376015
    Fax: +353 (0)42 9376157

Note that Cooley is sometimes listed as Castletowncooley.

I visited the site a long time ago (I think it was about 2000/2001) and I think the whole operation had closed even then. From memory there was a brake van and wagon/van parked outside and there was a small agricultural type shed which presumably held 'Robert Nelson No4' and LEV002, although I have a niggle that perhaps LEV002 was stored outside (memory playing tricks on me perhaps!). I don't think I took any pics, but I'll check later and post any up if I have them.

This is a link to the site on google maps: google map
It is quite an isolated area (although very scenic) and I'm not sure how long the operation was actually in business for.

Are you enquiring for research purposes, or is there a plan to return the LEV to the mainland? With the current financial crisis in Ireland, the owner may be open to offers for the LEV and the other stock (just my opinion - I don't have any inside knowledge!).

    Hope this helps,

    Keith

I was told some time ago that it was no longer on site and was presumed to have been scrapped, though this may be just rumour.
