I see that the West Somerset Railway is going down the same path as the Bluebell Railway a few years back, and introducing their own Personal Track Safety course for Linesdie Photographers starting from next year.

It was probably inevitable in this day and age of H&S, that this was going to happen. How long before railways such as the Severn Valley, follow suite.

£50 is a bit steep, but then again the PTS does last for 3 years - although renewal for the subsequent years will be cheaper.

What about the people with Network Rail PTS ? Would they need to undertake this watered down exam?

  3. The official website says "There will be an exemption for holders of valid PTS certification from the mainline railway companies." which I assume includes NR.
