After missing out on what was happening at LR for the last couple of months due to work, thought I'd revise this for July. Steam trains run daily with departures at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 from Llangollen, and at weekends a second service is provided with departures at 10:30, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00 from Llangollen.

So the first event is a new one, titled A Brief Encounter. Part of the Llangollen Fringe Festival, this is a short open air performance of the final farewell from the classic film. This event is run every night from Thursday 8th - Sunday 11th. On Thurs 8 / Fri 9 the show starts at 18:00, while on Sat 10 / Sun 11 it begins at 18:30. Lasting for approx half an hour each show, the sequence is performed on Llangollen Platform 1 and costs only £3 per person. Refreshments are available from the refurbished tea rooms.

Our next event is on Saturday the 10th, when D5310 gets a run out and will operate 4 return trips during the day starting from Llangollen at 10:30, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. A rover ticket for the day is the standard £11.

Then we have a Murder Mystery on the evening of Saturday 17th for you to enjoy. Departing at 18:30, you get to enjoy 2 round trips with a hot buffet whilst trying to solve the mystery of the crime that is performed for you by InterAct (Wales).

In another event to coincide with the Llangollen Fringe Festival, on Sunday 18th there is Music on the Move. Starting at 13:00 a selection of acoustic songs will be performed on Llangollen Stn before you join the train at 14:00 for 2 return trips with the band as they perform along the journey.

And then we have our Ivor Weekend, returning to North Wales following last year's first visit of the popular TV character, on the 24 / 25. There is a slight difference this time around, with 5643 / 80072 / 44806 alternating on the hourly service from Llangollen whilst Ivor provides brake van rides and joins in with the stories of Jones the Steam. Something different for the enthusiast as well and there are no faces put on the locos for this event.

Then in the final event from LR as part of the Fringe Festival, Ivor returns in Concert following last years surprisingly successful event on the evening of the 24th at Llangollen stn starting at 19:00. Tickets are £10 and the tea rooms will be kept open for the entire event.

And then the final event in July is Llangollen's first ever 1960s event, occuring at the very end of the month from July 31st to August 1st.

As part of the 60s weekend there is also the Llanstock music festival.

Times for "A Brief Encounter" now changed slightly to coincide with Eisteddfod. Also there is a service from Carrog at 09:45 being run to allow school children to get to the Eisteddfod and enjoy the event on Tuesday 6th.

Know it's short notice, but 2807 is hoped to operate the 13:00 and 15:30 services tomorrow (Tuesday 6th) from Llangollen as well. 3802 as back-up loco.

Ivor this weekend, featuring 44806 80072 5643 and the main star Ivor. There are no faces put on the engines for this weekend either, so plenty of photo opportunities for photographers as well though any sort of donation would be appreciated if you do come to visit.

Also 60s weekend timetable now available, see either Llan Diesel Group's website or the 1960s thread on this forum.
