Plans are coming together nicely for our 6th event (never thought we'd get this far!).

Friday 24th will see a photo charter with 5199, weathered using Iain's now well-travelled temporary painting technique. The charter will start with an early morning freight working at 07:00, 5199 will then work the day's 3 trip public service and then finally she will haul our superb suburban set on an evening photo special from 17:15 until sunset. Neil Cave has kindly agreed to support this event and take bookings, please see http://www.timelineevents.org/produ...north-wales-llangollen-railway-24th-july-2015 for more details.
Our now legendary Dr Beechings bar will be open in the Robertson Suite at Llangollen station from 7pm with a range of draft real ale, cider and bottled Wrexham lager. We are also delighted to welcome the 7822 Scoiety, who will be running a 60s themed pub quiz and other entertainment, including live music.

Saturday 25th will see an intensive timetable - 3 steam (5199, 6430 3802 in a 63-esque end of Western steam theme), 1 diesel (either recently repaired Class 37 6940 or Class 26 D5310) and a railcar (mostly likely the superb Class 109 Wickham). There will be a free rail replacement vintage bus service running along the valley thanks to the North West Museuem of Passenger Transport, a large vintage vehicle rally at Glyndyfrdwy station, trade stands at Llangollen station and live music in the evening. Dr Beechings Bar will be open all day and night. An evening campers and residents railcar will leave Llangollen at 10:30pm, calling at all stations to Corwen.

Sunday will be much the same, but without the evening concert and late train, although there will be live music throughout the day.

As usual, we endeavour to come up with some surprises and novel stock combinations and this year should hopefully be no different. Watch this space!

The timetable is nearly complete and should be available soon.

Dress up in your flares, kaftans or drainpipes and come prepared to have a great time wallowing in the sights, sounds and tastes of the 60s and see you there, Man!

Will ultimately depend on crew availability but we will try and aim for D5310 on Saturday and 6940 on Sunday given the Cumbrian and Norfolk Saturday 37 diagrams on the national network.

Timetable now on the railways website. Diesel locos will be: Class 26 - Saturday and Class 37 - Sunday. 5199, 3802, the diesel and DMU will be operating full line trains, with 6430 working the shuttles with the auto trailers.

The locos i'm weathering this year will be 5199 and 6430 (a first to have 2 suitably grubby engines).

If anyone's interested i'm running a photo charter with 5199 on Friday 24th (with thanks to Neil Cave for his assistance). Details here - http://www.timelineevents.org/produ...north-wales-llangollen-railway-24th-july-2015

The beer has been ordered and will be arriving early next week. I've chosen a nice selection of local ales, hopefully everyone will agree!

Will the timetable be released again with loco allocations and with details of the various sets in use (presumably subs and 2x mk1s) later, or is it just turn up on the day and see what is doing what? Also which direction are the locos facing?

That's it for the timetable. Posters and info will be available at all stations to cover what's on which train. All locos are facing West.

Sets are, subs, 1 x mk1s and Thompson, autos, Dmu. Everything up the headshunt will be top and tail, so each of the locos on the subs /mk1s will keep swapping sets.

I'm hoping to come down on the morning on the Saturday, and was wondering if you could tell me which the first DMU departure is, I have come to Llan several times and have always missed the Wickham unit. No worries if you can't, as I'm sure the others will preforming well as always!

The first DMU diagram is 10:15 from Llangollen.

Dr Beechings Bar will be open all day Saturday and will have 8 local cask real ales on offer from Big Hand, Facers, Heavy Industry, Purple Moose, Salopian and Stonehouse, all at £3 per pint. Wrexham Lager, cider, wine and soft drinks also available!

Hi, I'm coming along for the first time tomorrow, and was hoping to catch a ride on the suburban carriages. I have heard great things about the job done on these from friends and am looking forward to seeing them tomorrow. Could someone tell me when the first departure with these carriages is. I have looked in other places but haven't seen the info anywhere else. Sorry if this is available elsewhere and I have missed it! See you all tomorrow!

Just got back from this excellent event. A very busy timetable, an excellent variety of steam and diesel motive power including the superb 'sandwich' auto train and very helpful and friendly crews and staff. A good selection of beers at Llangollen station too. First class all round.

Thanks to all who supported the event! Despite awful weather on Sunday, we had a very successful event indeed and broke previous takings records. Friday's charter was also superb, despite the poor weather.

Here's to next year. The date should be 22nd, 23rd and 24th of July 2016.
