No I do not currently volunteer
A current diesel 58050, Doncaster's last locomotive, was scheduled for official preservation, but is demic in Spain and probably won't be.
Just read recently that an ex Great Central A5 4-6-2T was also dropped from the list, sadly.
And then we have the 'Ben Alder Tragedy' in the late 1960s
Were there any others that fell out of favour/didnt get saved but could have been?

I don't recall an A5 ever being on the well publicised BTC list although several that were on the list e.g. 73xxx and 71000 were dropped. Where did you read this?
