Ah, that's interesting. Looks like a little trip behind 70013 on my way home from work Saturday morning may be in order!

Yes I had already spotted that and have a London bash planned. Unfortunately I cant get to anywhere in the London area from Southampton in time to for 70013. I could if it was the more normal and reasonable 0748 KX departure.

Nothing on RTT yet for 44932 and I am not sure where the time at Clapham Junction comes from as the train is destined for Canterbury so presumably would operate via Factory Junction and Denmark Hill.

    Many thanks

Times are on Steam Dreams website. Bit of a convoluted route on the return - it passes Kenny O twice in half an hour! Can't see any water stops on the return either, and the only time on the outward seems to be an 11 minute splash and dash at Chiswick.

Outbound it gets to Clapham via Willesden, Kew East, Chiswick (p/u) and then Clapham, Longhedge, Bromley etc. But the return is a bizarre routing from Longhedge through KennyO (s/d) and then is shown as going from Mitre Bridge to Willesden SWS and back again (at which point I wonder if 44932 is detached) before heading back through Kenny O, Clapham, Barnes and Kew East to get to Willesden HL en route to Stratford. It all looks a bit odd and I can't see any Chiswick stop on the return either. And I've learned something as I didn't think you could go in a loop from Mitre Bridge to Mitre Bridge via Willesden SWS - not without a reversal, that is.

You've done this before ! haha, thanks very much for that, have'nt been to Woking since 1985 for the 150 do, went down with 34092 from Marylebone to Clapham when a man with a briefcase got on the footplate, then with a Crompton on the front, off we set for Woking, on arrival we set up shop with 30072 & did the steam shuffles up & down the yard for a couple of days, great times !

No but I've recommended it in the past and know it worked for the people I recommended it to. As I live in Woking I get to see it by walking 5 mins from my front door, unfortunately I wasn't there for the steam in the yard.

If you're quick, get a Victoria line Underground train from Euston to Victoria where 35028 will be leaving from Platform 2. Due into Vic with ecs at 11:43, depart 12:28. Good phot spot at country end of Platform 9.
For a Clapham Junction shot, get any train from Vic that stops at Clapham Junction (most do) It's about 6-7 minutes journey time but allow plenty of time for platform change at CJ (it's quite a way ).
35028 should come through at 12:44 on Platform 5, so that or Platform 4 should suit you.

    Have a good day!

That works, so long as you don't leave yourself too little time to make it back from the end of platform 9 to the train that you wish to catch to Clapham, otherwise 35028 will leave before you... (and yes I have made that mistake).

I'm on this one. It was supposed to pick up at Stratford then Olympia but Network Rail have been unable to find a path through Olympia in the morning, hence the convoluted route and the extra stop at Chiswick. On the way back it does stop at Olympia as planned so no need for a Chiswick stop. The plan then on the way back is to proceed to Willesden SWS for 44932 to detach and then the diesel which presumably will be on the back all day will take the train forward. So it DOES reverse at Willesden. Hope that helps!

Hope it runs late around London as otherwise I cant fot 46233 then 44932. Either that or Vintage Trains work another miracle and 46233 runs early

You kind of get that feeling....................... ;)

    I'm hoping so!

I'm out for most of this, Cromwell at crack of sparrow, no thanks an all too early start & I'll most likely see her again! First off the Duchess for me, then fingers crossed 44932...... followed by 35028, and the the Duchess back out followed by 44932 back round....... and I'm NOT going out to see a box piloted tour..... today's move with Bodmin was the exception!!
