My blog posts so far have been about how we’re using our collection to bring Station Hall to life. Now we need your help. We’re asking people to donate old suitcases and trunks for us to use as props in Station Hall. Here are some of the items we’ve received so far (taken in our not-so-atmospheric office).

[IMG]There are some interesting details on a couple of these cases, and they will really help to create a busy station atmosphere in Station Hall.

If you have any similar items that you would like to donate, then we’d love to hear from you. *If your luggage has a fantastic story to go with it, then even better.

You can contact me either via this blog or by emailing stationhall@nrm.org.uk. Please be aware that any items that are donated will not be made part of the collection, and will be used as display props only. One last thing – please don’t just turn up at the door with them! If you contact us in advance then we can make sure somebody will be able to receive the items, and complete a bit of paperwork.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a proper blog post without at least one image from our collection.

I have a sneaking suspicion that these London & North Western Railway staff wouldn’t be quite so careful with the luggage when the camera wasn’t around.

I,m disposing of my late parents estate and there are several items that you can have with regard to luggage. I will bring them over to you in the near future but will advise beforehand. I could't e mail due to a default setting.
