November 2012 may seem a long way ahead, but plans are already underway to stage "Lynton & Barnstaple World" at the NEC in Birmingham.

With its central venue, The National Model Railway Exhibition is the largest in the UK, and has been organised for many years by the Warley Model Railway Club. Over two days, the show typically attracts over 18,000 visitors.

A regular feature of the show is a full-scale locomotive. Previous exhibits have included The FRs double Fairlie, Livingstone Thompson, the WHRs K1, and Thomas Edmundson from the South Tynedale Railway. The 2012 show will see Lyd displayed in full Southern splendour, and for the first time, the Warley organisers have agreed to host a themed area next to the loco to be dedicated to a single line.

As well as a number of L&B-related models and layouts, the L&B Trust will also have a stand, and it is intended that the L&B's show-within-a-show will offer a great window onto the modelling potential of the line, and at the same time, encourage more interest in current activities.

Lynton & Barnstaple World has its own website, managed by John de Frayssinet, who is co-ordinating the show, as well as providing two of the layouts currently selected to appear.
If you have any L&B display models or layouts (any scale) that might be suitable for including, please get in touch with John via the website:
