    Evening All,

As some of you may remember, I had some pictures of the L & B trackbed taken in 1961 on my Fotopic website.

With the disappearance of Fotopic, those pictures disappeared too. However, I have now uploaded them to my new photo album on Flickr so if anyone didn't see them on Fotopic, and would like to see them now, here's the link :

Hope that they are still of interest.

Great to see those views again... I walked the line in its entirety 1971-2 and was even fortunate enough to walk over a parapet-less Chelfham viaduct thanks to the chap who lived in the station building. I took about fifty photos on my trusty instamatic, and when one was developed a brown, semi-transparent image of a bogie wagon with a sort of inverted 'V' trestling appeared superimposed on the grassy trackbed,at a slight angle, but roughly in perspective. Though I still have the print, I put the negative in a 'safe place' and haven't seen it in six house moves! For the record, the shot was in the cutting immediately north of Dean farm.
When I get a spare moment (!) I will post the piccies.
The day Snapper coughed into life and ran down the headshunt and to the end of the platform was a very emotive one for me. There were times when I really thought....Perhaps It Really Is Dead..!
