Whilst sorting through some old stuff of my Grandad's who was very keen of the NSR, amongst some considerable correspondence with a couple of members of the "manifold" pseudonym I came across a map of the North Staffordshire lines drawn by Charles F Cheffin, presumably a part of his map of "England and Scotch Railways" map of 1850.

Unfolded, it measures about 18" by 23" and came folded in a dark green cardboard slip and the map is printed on some sort of material; the scale is about 1:380000 using a ruler. All I can find is a complete map for about £150, nothing about the individual parts. Wondering if it's just a reproduction or if it's older than that, the back looks a little stained and is worn on all the fold lines, and I can't imagine my Grandad not taking good care of it, regardless of whether it was a reintroduction or not. Any tell tale signs I could look for?

    Thanks

Can't help with it's age, but are you sure about that size? 18 foot by 23 foot seems a bit on the large side for a map!
