Don't know if this is the right place, but is there an easy way to tell a BR Mark 1 coach from an early Mark 2?

Solebars covered by the body sides on MK2, and exposed on the MK1 (the XP64 which were mainly like the MK1 also had the Solebars covered but were only eight coaches in total)

Does anyone have any photos that show the difference more clearly?
