Meiningen 100 in 2014

March 2014 will see the 100th anniversary of the opening of Meiningen works at its current location. Hopefully they'll feel able and willing to celebrate in style. A second boiler order for 60163 from the A1 trust would help the petty cash, no doubt, but as the £ has slumped against the € since the first purchase, I wonder how imminent this really is.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the rumours of 60163 being in Germany sometime during this year's Bahn 175 celebrations are, as far as I know, still just rumours, and the loco's UK bookings are filling up the calendar. But given that Tornado might not yet exist without Meiningen boilermakers, I hope they'll be able to visit any future celebrations there. And if a few time trials against the German class 18 could be fitted in, that would be a big draw, I'm sure.
