S15 No 506 in the yard at Ropley , was hot { could see heat haze from chimney } , but she didn't run this day - great to see her - 16th August 2024 . I had visited the Mid Hants a few days earlier { non running day } in order to visit Martin at 80150 in the down sidings . Being a long distance member it was great to see progress in an number of area's , here's hoping 80150 gets her turn in the workshop in the not to distant future ...great and historic loco for the line as well as the Demu ......

We had a very enjoyable day at the railway yesterday. Started the visit with lunch in the West Country Buffet just before the lunchtime rush started. I can highly recommend the baked potatoes with beans and cheese. Very large portions which kept us going for the rest of the day.
It was great to see the railway really busy and the miniature railway was very popular. Really enjoyed looking behind the scenes and it was very impressive to see how much work is going on around the railway. I bought one of the Titanic Boat Train Heritage trusts excellent enamel mugs. The boat train is going to be a great asset to the Railway in the future.
We had a couple of trips behind 34072 which once again sounded superb tackling the Alps.
We were a bit disappointed to find that the last train out of Alton was diesel hauled but 34072 provided a fair bit of banking assistance up the bank from the rear of the train!
Thanks to everyone involved for an excellent day out again.

    It could well be.
41312 won't be available as it has gone to Didcot for their Gala. 506 was in various bits last weekend and was being worked on so not sure if it will be ready for this weekend.

Some excellent news from Ropley today as Can Pac's boiler was reunited with her frames. Congratulations to everyone involved with the work so far.
I can't wait to see my favourite Merchant Navy back in action next year.

Thanks. Was hoping for 34072 but looks like I've missed the boat. Never mind.

Latest YouTube video is now available to watch. Can’t wait until next year to see 35005 back in Steam again.
