Well with an opportunity to see the Duchess in her new livery I decided to head down to Ripley to the Midland Railway Centre, however to my disappointment on arrival the Duchess was safely tucked up and hidden away in the West Shed out of the way of the public. Hopefully Saturday will be fine and offer some good weather to go chasing her...

Anyway we had some rather good spells of sunshine (for a change). In service was the rather vibrant 'Jinty' No.47327 alongside Class 20 048. Also on the Golden Valley Railway was their resident steam engine 'Joan' which seems to have undergone a repaint too since the last time I saw it...

I've uploaded two clips from today and the rest will be available on the 'Part 2: Spring Steam 2010' DVD.
