I am cataloguing and selling a large number of documents originating from the old SR and BR (SR) days. I have just unearthed the original Civil ENgineer's drawing of the accident site where MN class 35020 "Bibby Line" suffered a major axle failure on APril 24th 1953.
This is significant because it led firstly to the withdrawal of all the MNs while the metal fatigue was analysed, but secondly because it led to the ultimate rebuilding of all the MNs from Bulleid's air smoothed design into the form we recognise today.
This historic and unique document is now on eBay if anyone is interested.
