The MNR will be operating it's heritage Class 101695 diesel multiple unit on internal services as well as Southern Region 3-CIG electric unit No.1497 (hauled by diesel locomotive No. 73210) for it's Multiple Matters Weekend, and hopefully the event will also see the welcome return to running of Met-Cam L836 as a 3 car diesel unit.

The MNR are pleased to announce that East Midlands Trains will again be supporting the event and, subject to availability, will provide one of their recently refurbished Class 156 diesel units to operate limited through trains from Norwich to Wymondham Abbey Halt and on to Dereham, providing a rare opportunity to travel over the normally non-passenger carrying section of the MNR between Wymondham South Junction Signalbox at the Mainline Station and Wymondham Abbey Halt.

The normal range of Standard fares will be available for MNR Single & Return trips and if you're staying all day, then one and two-day rover tickets will also be available for unlimited travel on the MNR.

In addition to normal MNR journey tickets, a £5 flat fare supplement for each passenger applies for each single or day return journey made between Norwich and Wymondham Abbey Halt and v.v. There are no discounts for Seniors, Families, Members, Priv Card holders, Children or HRA Members on the Supplementary Tickets. To clarify, the supplementary fare is £5 for either a single or one return trip - which we hope you'll agree is pretty good value!

The special through services will not call at Wymondham Mainline Station for passenger purposes in either direction and you cannot board or alight there. Wymondham Mainline Station is a 20 minute walk from Wymondham Abbey Halt MNR.

No Advance booking is necessary - the special through trains will operate on a normal service 'turn-up-and-go' basis (subject to seating capacity).
Customers boarding at Norwich should purchase tickets from the MNR staff at trainside or on-board (CASH payments only accepted). Normal National Rail tickets/passes/railcards etc. are NOT valid on the special through trains, nor on the MNR.

Timetable details for the weekend are now provided on the website and as well as providing one through return service from Norwich to Dereham on Saturday 19th October, and two through return workings on Sunday 20th, we will also be operating limited services over the northward extension of the MNR from Dereham to Hoe.

    All the details are here:
