The Moscow City Government has allocated land for the construction of two new metro stations as part of the Kozhukhovskaya Line.

Stakhanovskaya and Nizhegorodskaya Ulitsa, which will each cover approximately 26,000 sq/m, are two of four new stations being built along the first eight-kilometre section of the new Kozhukhovskaya Line.

A total of nine stations are being built on the 15.2-kilometre metro line which is due to open in 2016. City planners hope the commissioning of the Kozhukhovskaya Line will relieve congestion on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line.

Last month, the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, opened a new section of the Butovskaya Line.
