    I have added 2 photos which up till now have never seen before, kindly given to me by G.Moffat
    They feature the recovery of LNER A1 Pacific 2565 Merry Hampton following the deliberate derailment during the general strike of 1926
    Robinson A5 tank used at recovery
    1712 A5 built for the LNER by Hawthorn Leslie W/No.3616 September 1925, LNER No.1712. Allocated initially to Gateshead from new 1925 1712 is flanked by the Tweedmouth and Gateshead breakdown cranes
