    SHEFFIELD railway station has won a prestigious award for the way it is being transformed.

    The station was crowned Project of the Year in the National Rail Awards in a competition against some of the country's major rail companies.
    The Station Gateway Project has transformed the station and bosses say the completion of Sheaf Square and the surrounding area will create a world class gateway to the city by the end of the year.
