    The Nene Valley Railway will be hosting out Winter Steam Gala on the 23rd/24th February.

    Also featuring:
    • Goods Trains,
    • Freight Handling Demonstrations at Wansford
    • Double Heading
    • Premium On Train Catering Provided by the International Railway Preservation Society on our Hook Continental Services throughout the day. (Available in our first class Wagons-Lits Liveried Belgian carriages. – No extra booking or supplement is necessary beyond the price of a gala ticket to travel in this train.)
    • Brake Van Rides
    • Tours of the Locomotive and Carriage Sheds, including seeing the progress of No. 34081 92 Squadron


    Also available are Driver Experiences for no. 4141.
    The package includes theory and practical driving of a steam locomotive. The course will be without rolling stock and consists of 1 hour tuition and 1 hour on the footplate. During the hour on the footplate, 2 participants will take it in turns to drive and fire the locomotive for a total distance of approximately 15 miles. Participants are also provided with drinks and a meal, given membership to the Nene Valley Railway and a few souvenirs of their participation.
    Courses are available on the 2 March 2013 and cost £245

    After the amazing Autumn Gala I'm was already looking forward to this when it was announced that Brittania was attending. Throw a little GWR power into the mix along with the home fleet and this looks very interesting!
