It’s a reasonable day and I have a few hours spare so off to the Nene Valley Railway to see what is in action today. On the way we call in at Melton.

    Nene Valley Railway – 21st April 1979

    Nene Valley Railway – 21st April 1979.

An interesting contrast to the recent collections from the Nene Valley Railway is this series of photographs from the same location but taken thirty years ago. In 1979 the Nene Valley Railway had a very Swedish feel. As always feedback and comments welcome.

Re: Nene Valley Railway – 3rd May 2009 (Part 1)

    Nene Valley Railway – 22nd May 2009

These days I have to fairly regularly commute between Nottingham and Borehamwood (North London) and for a change I often come back via the A1 rather than the M1. Of course this route takes you past the Nene Valley Railway at Wansford which makes a convenient point for a break in the journey. However I was surprised on this Friday afternoon stop over to find the railway “in action” providing driver experience courses using the standard class 5, 73050.
