Presume the Peckett will be doing the shunting although a full line trip would be nice. :) Nice addition to the line up as it will be a new loco for me.

I believe that broadly speaking the three ex-BR locos will be operating WF-PBO with the two main sets whilst the industrials will be shunting around WF and taking brake vans and the freight to Yarwell.

Orton Mere loop is currently out of action so train aren't crossing there.

Shame about OM loop as I feel that gives more flexibility to a gala timetable when trains can cross there.

So am I right in saying Orton is the only crossing point, therefore only 1 train will be on the line at a time? This giving a departure about every hour and a half from Wansford.

It will be back in operation by the diesel gala. The switch blades at the east end are life expired and need replacing and the cross over is being converted to being electrically operated at the same time.

Operationally a loop at Ferry would be a lot more helpful, but that's still a long way off (Though the new siding we've laid has been done using decent rail and concrete sleepers so it can eventually be converted into a second platform).

Sorry for missing your post Nick, think that last post went out at the same time. Wansford is also a crossing point (With the line continuing about another mile to Yarwell) and some of the main services are running to Yarwell as well.

Trains leave for Yarwell roughly every 20-25 minutes whilst they leave for Peterborough every hour and 5/10 minutes.

    OK thanks, got you there.
I agree a passing loop at Ferry Meadows would be much better as it's nearer the middle of the line. Fingers crossed for the future on that one.

The timetable with loco allocations is now up at
    http://nvr.org.uk/sites/default/files/PDF/steamgalaSeptv2.pdf

The 4MT is now on site and has undertaken a day of footplate experience freight train courses already.
The peckett is also on site (I'm unsure when 4141 will be touching down yet) so it looks like all the elements are shaping up nicely.

We're also hoping on having the TPO rake on display in the bay platform by the cafe at Wansford.
