    Evening all,

For those who don't know the TPO group and International Railway Preservation Society at the NVR are in the process of building a new museum at Ferry Meadows station. The first aspect will be a 6 coach running shed for which the foundations are to be laid next year.

I've just put an update on the museum and site progress as well as an update on the NVR Mark 1 TPO coaches which we are going to be undertaking a program of overhaul on from next spring.

Any other questions or quiries, let me know abd I'll try abd answer them.

    The update's up at http://www.nightmail.org.uk/news/progress/216-october-2013

A recent update on the site at Ferry Meadows can be found at:

    http://www.nightmail.org.uk/news/progress/228-march-2014

The main news being that we have taken delivery of the Class 325 EMU cab that used to be in the Great Hall at York.

The breezeblocks holding it up are a short term addition whilst the metal framework that was built for it has the height modifications it recieved at the NRM removed. Once this is done an access to the rear will be constructed and a roof over the whole area will be constructed.

Over the last few months we have been continuing to work on the Night Mail site at Ferry Meadows. We have also been overhauling the running gear on the mark one TPOs in preparation for the Mail by Rail gala in September.

The event will feature both S160 6046 and 60163 Tornado.

Details of the event can be found at http://www.nightmail.org.uk/news/mailbyrail

As part of this we are holding a dusk photo charter on the Saturday night with Tornado on the TPOs. This will involve a number of mail drops followed by staged scenes on the platform with mail being unloaded and loaded.

Places are £50 and numbers are strictly limited. More details of this are at http://www.nightmail.org.uk/news/tornado-tpo

To continue with the occasional updates on The Night Mail Group on the NVR I have updated the website to show how things are progressing at Ferry Meadows:

    http://www.nightmail.org.uk/news/progress/247-march-15-nmupdate

One of the key developments has been the launch of the Fiver For Ferry Campaign which aims to raise the relatively modest ammount of £2,000 to install a canopy on the station building at Ferry Meadows. This is part of a wider scheme to create a Great Northern Station at Ferry Meadows. One may well ask why we are attempting to create a GNR Station on an LNWR line. Just to bump this thread again!

We had our annual Mail by Rail weekend last weekend, featuring a deltic hauled TPO.

Having recently acquired a go-pro, I thought I'd giving videoing a go hopefully showing some slightly unusual angles

    Hopefully the link works
