NER 1310 H Class

    Following an extensive re-build and conversion back to her original form, the Middleton Railway's H Class 1310 (a.k.a Y7) will be making her official return to traffic in under 2 weeks time. In light of this very special event we are holding a 2 day celebration on the 8th and 9th October. Come and ride behind her for the first time in nearly 10 years and see her in action on both freight and passenger stock.

    It is also the last few months of the boiler ticket on MSC 67 and many will be sad to see this regular perfomrer bow out. The two locos will be running a combination of trains, some top 'n' tail and even the odd double header. Normal fares apply, as does the standard timetable, but this will be your only chance to see the two in steam together for many years. It will also be one of the only opportunities to see 1310 in operation this year.

    Please come and support the team who put so much time into this little loco. If you want a taste of what she looks like, check out footage from out Autumn Gala on youtube where the loco made an appearance in light steam.

    A few more details for anyone interested.

    Trains on Saturday will run every 40mins from 13.00 until 16.20 with both locomotives in use top and tailed, with hopefully a few changes during the day. Sunday sees our normal 40min steam timetable in operation with trains running from 11.00 until 16.20, again both 1310 and 67 working the train.

    Normal ticket prices apply for the weekend.

    Another quick post for anyone interested.

    1310 has now done a number of days in traffic and is running well, with only a few minor items needing rectifying. The loco is rosterd to work one more day in this season, our new years day specials. It will haul trains on the hour starting at 12.00 and finishing at 15.00. Its a lovely little loco and well worth coming to see if you need an escape after Christmas and New Year.

    The loco is also due to take part in its first gala on the 23rd and 24th June next year at our "200 Years of Steam" event. Watch out for further news on this event in the near future.
