Hello, I am quite interested in the NER, and I was wondering whether any of you could provide me with photographs or information regarding the livery of NER Directors Saloons, in particular, the interior and whereabouts the NER Crests would be placed.

    Thank You :)

The crests were abit of a stumbling block when we at Tanfield were restoring our 5 compt 3rd no.256, originally from memory we thought that it had 2 crests to a side, however it was found from research that if one crest could not be mounted centrally because of doors or lack of a clear panel then two were used to achieve the balance - therefore one was only needed in our case.

If you can, find yourself a book "North Eastern Record" Volume 2 - it is good book on North Eastern rolling stock and includes liveries, lining, crests and has some very detailed and informative pictures.
