NER Snowplough 18 dating from 1909 returned to the NYMR late on wednesday, following completion of the first stage of its restoration.
The plough featured in the BTF film "Snowdrift at Bleath Ghyll"
The story of its restoration to date can be seen at

Given the recent weather, how is this restoration getting along?

Currently its nice and snug and dry in the shed at Newbridge.
Only problem is the roads between here and there.
Looks like I have at least half of the bodyside planking to replace with new as most are rotten at the bottom.
They were not included in the work I had done last year to replace the underframes.

Fascinating website Ploughman. Congratulations on all the work done so far. It looks superb.
Get it ready for next year and it might see quite a bit of use, if you want it to be used that is?
Whilst the NR ones are obviously effective, there is something special about the NER ones, it must be the 'E' factor.
