    Rethink on rail extension plans

New feasibility study launched after original scheme shelved

A NEW study into the benefits of extending Dore railway station in Sheffield and making trackbed improvements in the area has been ordered after the plans were shelved by Network Rail.
Originally the organisation intended to install a second platform at the station and change a section of single track to double around Dore Junction allowing more trains to stop there, potentially improving connections to Leeds, London and Manchester for commuters living in the south of Sheffield.
