I'm pleased to announce my new book "The George England locomotives of
the Festiniog Railway". The book was written to support the Flexiscale
project to laser scan and 3D print models of the four remaining
Ffestiniog England locos. I am now making it available more widely.

The books covers the early history of steam locomotives on the narrow
gauge, then goes into detail on how the Festiniog tendered for its
first steam locos and contracted with George England. The next chapter
is a biography of England and cover his often acrimonious dealings
with Robert Fairlie. The locomotives are then described in detail,
each getting its own section with a full history of the changes over
its lifetime. Finally, we round off with a chapter on the laser
    scanning and 3D printing process.

The book is richly illustrated with archive and recent photographs,
    many previously unpublished.

Full details can be found at the website:
http://www.festinioglocos.com/ where you can order your a copy.

There are two editions, a softcover and a limited edition, large
format hardcover (only 3 remaining!). All proceeds from the sale of
these book are being donated to the Welsh Pony restoration fund.

I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Just wanted to give you a quick update on the book, which has now sold 150 copies, with almost £540 raised for the Welsh Pony restoration fund. I'm extremely pleased with the response - thank you to everyone who has purchased a copy. I've had several very kind things said about the book from readers, which is tremendously flattering, so thanks for that too.

The 200th. copy of the book was purchased earlier today. More than £720 has now been raised through book sales for Welsh Pony, which I'm very pleased about. You can still order a copy at: http://www.festinioglocos.com/ - if you order by the 13th December you can still get delivery ahead of Christmas Day.

Many thanks to everyone who has purchased a copy so far. I hope you've enjoyed the book.

Quick update on the book, more than 275 copies have now been sold. I'm pleased to say that a number of copies are available at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway bookshop in Porthmadog.
