    Stuff happening at the Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog)

    New toys 1! The contractor arrived on site on Tuesday to start erecting the steel framework for the new museum building. Work started with digging foundation holes, and quickly moved on to planting the upright sections. By Thursday evening, one side of uprights and the first of the roof girders were in place. (Rain stopped play today).

    Some other good news from the Porthmadog end of the line: the guard’s passenger figures for the year to the end of August were up 18% from the equivalent total at the same point last year. It means that the passenger numbers this year are on course to break a record for this decade.
