Yesterday (29th April) the 15:15 Kingswear - Paignton service was forced to stop just short of Broadsands Viaduct because a man (est. in his 20s) was sat on the edge of the viaduct with his legs hanging over the edge facing out to sea. The train driver gave a long blast on the whistle before drawing his train to a halt. At this point the man stood up on the parapet, and I thought the worst for a moment. The driver then climbed down and walked cautiously towards the man, some converstation took place and then he led him off the viaduct and into the adjacemt field off railway property. The passengers in the "Devon Belle" sallon who had all stood up and were peering out of the windows, took their seats and the train continued on down to Paignton. I saw the man on his mobile phone stroll across the field and out of sight.

The first time in 10 years of living in this spot that I've seen that! Relieved too that it didn't become a body-bag job.
