Just wondered if many Southern steam fans have visited the Nine Elms enginemens site?

    http://www.svsfilm.com/nineelms/

Brilliant site, lots of photos you wouldn't have seen elsewhere, and some great stories (including the legendary 120mph+ Bulleid!) , and an MN pulling/pushing a 1,000 ton train(s)! ....by the drivers and firemen themselves.

Take a look, see what you think of the site!

You might find him mentioned there, or see a photo?
That sounds like a unique tattoo!

It's a great web site for a great bunch of guys. I've pleased that I've been able to make a few humble contributions to it, and to meet some of those guys again at the annual re-union held on the Bluebell Railway every year.

I would strongly recommend a read of the Memories Section. There are some wonderful stories in there written by the loco crews.

If anyone know's of any ex-Nine Elms enginemen at preserved lines, please send them to the link at the beginning of the thread! I attend these reunions also as KentYeti knows.... The more the merrier and there is so much to talk about.

Great read & Site:Brought back some memories for me...
Travelled past it every day from 1949-1952 on the Windsor side, then on a regular basis from 1959 to the end.On the map page, the last one fits the bill.
Still travel alongside it,and the memory flood back each time although it's now Covent Garden (flower) market.
Remember the line leading into Nine Elms from Queenstown Rd track.
Always looked it's most bleak time in winter, smoke from the engines and the London fog competing.

    Thanks for the memory.
