As has been commented on before, there doesn't seem to be a thread on this. A lot has been happening at Shillingstone with very regular updates on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ShillingstoneStation/

Here is a recent update regarding the extension northwards:

Breakthrough! Wednesday 8th February 2023 saw us remove the final lump of spoil from the trackbed north of the yard. The line of the soon to be restored railway track is now clearly visible from the station up to the bridge. There is still work to be done north of the bridge, but a major milestone has been achieved. The next step is to conduct a detailed survey of the route to enable fine tuning of the alignment and levels. After that we shall start to move the materials needed for track laying into position so that we are ready to proceed when the better weather arrives.

The website is here - https://www.northdorsetrailway.co.uk/

Also on site at Shillingstone is Project 62 who have two former Jugoslavian built USA tanks with BR Southern ficticious numbers 30075 and 30076. 30075 is well on the way to being steamed again.

Here are the links to the Project 62 website and facebook page:

Don't know what issues you are referring to @ady as they have been working on the extension for the last couple of years including rebuilding the embankment north of Lamb House Bridge. It all looks very positive. Nice to see the S&D rolling stock from Washford there. I hope to pay a visit this weekend as it is my nearest standard gauge railway (albeit not running passenger trains yet). Shillingstone, Swanage and Mid Hants are all less than an hour's drive from home.

couple of years before covid and maybe before you were there, they seemed to have lost direction and members were complaining that the project had just become something for locals to get away from the house. Also their attempt to build a proper workshop didn't plain out as they intended.

The fact they are now pressing ahead with installing rails which was one of the things members complained they weren't doing hopefully things are on the move again.
