I'm having to choose which day to go. Main interest is LEV1 railbus, but does anyone know which trains it will work - will it be in operation both days? I'd be grateful for any info. Thanks in advance.

From what I can work out from the roster, everything is out both days. The signalmen sign off at 10pm on the saturday so i assume there is a dining train. As they sign off at 6ish on the sunday I would assume that is the limit of the proper working day. It appears there will be 3 steam locos out as there are 4 crews rostered one of which has a really early start. There are the 2 diesel locos out with crews on fairly early. The DRB and DMU have the same driver so are obviously alternating throughout the day. LEV can only be driven by one person at the moment so that isn't on the roster. From what I have heard it is out both days as it is this fitters pet project and he wants to have a play!

Even the staff don't know anything detailed, so I'm afraid we can't be more specific.

Steam Locos are likely to be:

    LMS 5MT (Black 5) 44767 'George Stephenson'
GWR 56xx 5619 (Dependent on repairs, however i have been told these have been completed)
    and finally either J15 65462 or N7 69621

    Diesels are:

    Class 25 25057,
    class 31 31207,
    DRB E79960,
Class 101 DMU 101681 (This is dependent on repairs as when it was repainted into BR Green, it had most of mechanical parts washed out/ cleaned, however this has decided that it's going to be pain and make its fuel tank become a sprinkler system.

The LEV1 is probably goin to be in use both days as in the STEAM RAILWAY magazine advert i read and on the NNR's website this is to be the star alongside 44767.

Rolling Stock is Quad-Arts, A range of Mk1's (not sure about the dining train) and Short demonstration goods train.

I had heard the DRB wasn't going to be running and apparently 5619 isn't either. But again, nothing official seems to have been released.

I didn't see any signs of the wind farm at Weybourne.

I spent yesterday there with fantastic weather conditions. The J15 seemed to be struggling a couple of times, specially with 5 on at the approach to Weybourne. Just the one shot for now:

The J15 has had a sizeable list of repairs during the winter and is actually in a much better condition than it has been for a while.

The reason for it looking like it was struggling, may have been that the crew were keeping it slow as it had caused a small fire just after the bridge at Weybourne station.

When I saw it this morning it was steaming fine. one of the best people to ask would be 'thegrimeater' (aka Will Day), as he was the cleaner on it today.

She steamed really well yesterday. Only trouble was she was only pulling 19 with the vacuum. We learnt to pull the strings every time we took over a set and it was fine.
