    I don't see a thread for this yet. I believe that there will be runs up to Battersby on the 'main' line towards Middlesbrough; not sure which of the visiting or home diesels will be certified for this. Are these runs included in the gala ticket or are they an add on? Any info gratefully received as I hope to attend after dropping my son at university!

    A Deltic over almost all the Whitby branch looks exciting - having missed the opportunity in early July to travel Whitby - Pickering behind one. Thanks for info.

    PS - tickets covering the trips to Battersby can be bought on line through the link supplied by eddief but only for Sunday - presumably this is the only day with no 'ordinary' trains on the line.
