Are these anything to do with preservation?

But you don't have to open the thread or read it.... so why get so stressed about it.

Neil is as welcome to post as anyone else. The section doesn't deal with just preservation, there are some modern railway things as well sometimes. My suggestion is that if it really bothers you so much then use the ignore button. I am sure Neil won't be offended, you won't have his threads on your feed either which in this case is a win win situation I would imagine for all parties concerned.

Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users and or companies. Flaming or
abusing users and or companies in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning

not much respect with this guy

  11. Well blow me down. And there's me thinking the forum was called National PRESERVATION and that this part of it would be where I should come to look for information on PRESERVED diesels and electrics.

Tssk tssk, how silly of me.

    First post here: http://railways.national-preservati...this-thread-please-read-first-comment.339902/

So who's right and who's wrong?

Right or wrong section of the forum, preserved or modern, steam, diesel or electric are not important in this case. Have the decency to apologise to the man for the remark you made.
If Mr Dimmer has posted in the wrong section we have moderators who I'm sure will have a quiet word.

It won't be long before anybody this kind of traction on the national network gets withdrawn and turned into bean cans, therefore Neil's photos provide a record of the 'classic' traction in use now thus preserving the image for the future, assisting modellers and probably the eventual group that purchases a 57 when they are finally withdrawn.

Perfectly acceptable post to me Neil....

Perhaps DisusedBranch should have his trackbed turned back into a field by the local farmer.

I think Disused Branch has made a valid point. There is a post at the top of this section explaining the whys, wherfores from a Moderator. On a recent day out with type 3 traction I took several photos and posted them in the relevent section so I dont see why the rules should be different for Mr Dimmer.

Maybe/maybe not, but insulting people is not the correct way to lodge a complaint

For once Neil I agree with you. But continuing to post things in the wrong place you do leave yourself open to fair old bit of flak mate. Especially as you've been told about it before

Crikey, the world has ended, its all over, civilisation cannot continue!! Someone has posted a discussion topic in the wrong place. On the Internet. You know, that global platform for free speech and collaboration...

    Perhaps a touch of perspective....

I understand your point mate but when you've been asked to not do somthing then it's polite to abide by that. Mr Dimmer seems to sort of abide by the rules for a month or so then seems to see how far he can push it. Manners (and not Charlie Collets kind) and a bit of respect for rules dont cost anything.
