Proposals that form the case for extending Nottingham's tram system have been submitted to the government this week.

The documents which make up Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils’ application for a Transport & Works Act Order for NET Phase Two - the proposed extension of Nottingham’s tram system to Clifton and Chilwell - are now available to view until 7 June at a number of venues in Nottingham.

If the submission is successful, the TWAO will give the councils - joint promoters of the scheme - the powers to acquire land, build and operate NET Phase Two and to enable the continued operation of Line One. Following government guidelines the TWAO application is made up of several documents, including a draft Order and explanatory memorandum, a concise statement of the aims of the proposals, a statement summarising the consultation carried out by the promoters, plans, cross-sections and drawings, an environmental statement, including a non-technical summary, a book of reference - including names and addresses of owners, occupiers, lessees and tenants of land to be acquired, and a timetable of the proposed works.
