    A Network Rail manager who is leading the £130,000 Lewes-Uckfield engineering study has forecast "an exciting future for the railways of South London and Sussex in the years to come".

    Meridian News is expected to feature a story on the Lewes - Uckfield project on its six o'clock news bulletin on Monday 7 January. Both Campaign Director Brian Hart and Uckfield town councillor Duncan Bennett were interviewed for the report.
