NYMR - extra train to Battersby

For those who missed the Whitby and Grosmont to Battersby services at the NYMR Gala last weekend, there is an extra opportunity this Sunday to experience Steam on the Esk Valley line.

For those who haven't travelled on this line, it is a real treat - the scenery is varied, with moorland and vales rolling away from the line. Add to this that steam trains can run up to the line speed of 45mph, which makes for a very special journey indeed.

Locomotive to be confirmed but will be from the pool o 825, 30926, 75029 and 76079.

£15 return from Whitby-Battersby sounds to be a good deal to me! I can't see 75029 being used, though, as it's supposedly now been withdrawn for boiler repairs.

 

You're probably right Steve - kept my options open in case that hadn't happened.

I'm trying to confirm the loco but 30926 Repton was in the frame as a strong possibility!

I can confirm that the present intention, subject to availability etc. (we are currently still running a daily service) is to use 30926 Repton on this train (the 11:00 Whitby to Grosmont will be either 76079 or 825).
