Couldn't see a thread for this, so apologies if I have started a duplicate.

Not that far off, but the web site gives no hint of any visiting locomotives...anyone have any info?

One visitor is well on the way with negotiations, but probably just not ready to announce yet, while another couple of ideas are being followed up for a second visitor, at least one based on a definite desire from owners of one loco to visit.

Im thinking the K1 might be around for this gala. Pending on your viewpoint as to whether its a visitor or not - I guess the easiest catagory for this now is a returnee!

Already a good mix of loco's on this line, wouldn't mind if no visitors even if they are interesting. Hope 60007 is in fine fettle.

Heritage Railway reports 4936 "Kinlet Hall" is to visit to provide cover for locomotives coming off winter maintenance. No arrival date given, but would presume her visit will cover the Gala weekends?

Interesting. I wonder if it will go by rail.

5972 came in by rail for the filming of the Harry Potter series, so halls must fit. 4936 do generally prefer rail transport where possible.

That means nothing. If there has been maintainance and track work done to the Esk Valley since the last hall visit the class could be out of gauge on the system. A4's were set to be banned until remidial work or checks were made to a bridge near Battersby to allow them to go through. Moving things by a fraction means clearances are checked over again and although the Hall will probably be fine, they would need to check again first.

As far as I'm aware, 4936 will be moving to and from NYMR by rail.

Excellent..... Wonder if this is the engine that was hinted at being wanting to move to the NYMR for a visit by its owners above. As its mainline registered too, would it enable a Hall in Whitby? Go-on - Im not the only on thinking that!

That would be the first time a Hall has worked a passenger train on the NYMR. It will be interesting to compare the performances of the Hall with the black 5 and the B1.

Did it do much work? I seem to recall there was a problem with the brakes when it arrived, and it turned out the vacuum pipes weren't reinforced - as soon as vacuum was created, the hoses closed up!

5972 did run some mileage on the NYMR in its pre-Hollywood Stardom days - not much but some ordinary passenger service. Steve will have the mileages to hand somewhere.

NYMR website has confirmed 4936 "Kinlet Hall", 45407 "The Lancashire Fusilier", 44871 as guest locomotives with another guest locomotive still to be confirmed, alongside home fleet 60007 "SNG", 45428 "Eric Treacy", 76079, 75029 "Green Night" and 61264.

That's a good line-up. I haven't been to an NYMR steam gala for a couple of years. I wonder what the other guest will be. I know 34092 is down to go in October so perhaps something more traditionally NYMR. Perhaps 90733 on the back of the SVR gala. That would raise the echoes!
