Ferrovial’s Polish subsidiary Budimex is to work alongside KZN Rail to build a tram depot to service and maintain a new tram fleet being built for the city of Olsztyn.

The 72 million złoty (€17 million) contract covers the construction of the repair shop and warehouse, an administrative building, a substation to power catenary systems and three kilometres of light rail track.

The depot is expected to be complete by the middle of 2016.

In 2012, the City of Olsztyn ordered 15 Tramino trams from Solaris.
