Olympic torch relay map announced today...

Cliff top railway Aberystwyth & Ffestiniog railway 1210 may 28th
Great orme cable car may 29th
Manx electric railway 1235 June 2nd
Forth rail bridge 1609 June 13th
    Nymr 1010 Whitby - Pickering June 18th
    Nrm 0843 (4472 allegedly) York - June 20th
Blackpool tram 1830 fleet wood June 22nd

Lots of BBC coverage of the said railways to follow, the Olympic torch relay is really a cover for a UK tourism promotion if you read the list.

Olympic Torch is being carried by steam on Great Central Railway on 3rd July. It will be carried from Leicester North to Quorn station before the bearers then run with it to Loughborough University and onwards.

Will be interesting to see what motive power is selected.

On the morning of the 3rd it is carried to Wansford where the NVR will carry it on 73050 "City of Peterborough" to Orton Mere for onward carrying through the city centre streets.

7812 Erlestoke Manor is going to be transporting the torch on the SVR from Bewdley to Kidderminster. Good to see to many of our railways getting in on the party (and the publicity!)
