    Railcar Gala – June 22nd and 23rd, 2013.
    This year's event will feature a guest appearance by the Battlefield Line's blue and grey "bubble car" 55005, the first time that this unit has ever operated on any other heritage railway since preservation in 1994.
    The "bubble" has recently undergone a full refurbishment and livery change, and it is intended that it will operate in multiple with other blue units on the Llangollen fleet, including the Class 104 and 108. It will operate at Llangollen for one weekend only.
    Other highlights of this action-packed weekend will include..........
    * 13 departures each way utilising DMU Classes 104,108, Wickham, 122 and 127.
    * Three departures each way using steam traction (this will be something unusual so watch for details to follow).
    * Services will use the new Carrog-Corwen section of track - with additional distance available compared with last year.
    * Multiple working between all classes.
    * A mammoth nine-car non-stop end-to-end working at the start of each day.
    * The 104/105 unit, which is under restoration, will be on view.
    * Sales stalls
    * Saturday evening BBQ and social event open to all.
    * Weekend Rovers and Day Rovers offering unlimited travel are available.
    * Standard tickets for return and other journey options will also be on sale.

    It's just been confirmed that the Railcar event at Llangollen on June 22/23 will feature the final appearance of GWR Pannier Tank 6430 and its two autocoaches before the loco is withdrawn for its 10-year overhaul. This will definitely be its last weekend as its ticket expires on June 30th.
    Use of the autotrain will allow us to exhibit units in the platforms at Llangollen Station and there is a provisional plan to bring Cravens trailer 56456 up frrom the depot for exhibition. This has been undergoing a full rebuild over the last year or so and will allow visitors to see just how much is now involved in DMU restoration.
    Following numerous requests we have now added "turn up and go" driver experiences to the entertainment for Saturday evening. Bookings will be taken on the DMU Group stall on Llangollen Station during the day.
    With five different DMUs, the autotrain, a half-hourly service, trains up the newly-laid part of the Corwen extension and the prospect of good weather (only joking) this looks like it is going to be a really fun event.
