OT, and not pointing the finger at this thread in particular, but am I alone in not always knowing all the current abbreviations for the current names of the various railways? I'm not suggesting that all railway titles should always be spelt out in full, but perhaps in the title ..... ?

Then again, am I alone in not knowing what 'OT' means. Not everyone is totally up-to-speed with internet abbreivations either.

Regrettably, that is not funny. That in itself is sad, as I have you marked down as a witty & erudite poster.....

The art of irony died with political correctness I'm afraid.

For all those who think I am a sexist monster I like women. My mum was one, so is the current Mrs Maunsell....

What a coincidence. My Mum's a woman too as is Mrs. Spamcan. Maybe we're related. :)

No fatwa here, Maunsell man. Perhaps I feel sorry for the poor buggers who have had their work undone. The fact no-one died is a bonus in this case. I am reliably informed that people were in fact working on the spot some minutes before the incident. There but for the grace of god go they.....

Having personally been involved in off-loading both of the vans seen in the photographs, and knowing the owners of the vehicles involved, puts a somewhat different perspective on my views....

    Kind regards,
    Ian

It is heartbreaking to see things like this. A lot of hard work by people undone in a few moments. Is there any significance in the fact that a Cl37 appears to have been involved, or am I way off the mark, as usual? We'll no doubt get to know a bit more in the next few days.

Changing subject, how's Harry coming along? Always referred to as Clint (Eastwood) when at Middleton. (from Dirty Harry.)
